Round 7, Pick No. 262 Overall (Compensatory): 49ers select TE Kemore Gamble, Florida

Mr. Irrelevant. Let’s hope not. But let’s be honest. he probably won’t get many looks behind tight end George Kittle for two reasons.

One, Kittle is one of the best, if not the best tight end in the game today. Secondly, Kittle is also the highest-paid tight end in the game today.

So barring any reason outside of an injury, Kittle will practically live on the field.

However, Kemore Gamble could push backup tight end Ross Dwelley for the No. 2 spot. Many people feel Gamble could’ve been a starter if he played for any other school in the nation. Too bad for him he was stuck behind standout, and current Falcons tight end, Kyle Pitts.

Gamble brings productivity to a position that isn’t lacking any.

But Dwelley is currently on a one-year contract, so he could be boxed out with competitive play.

At the very least, Gamble can contribute on special teams and see time as a blocker in two-tight end sets. If given the opportunity, look for him to capitalize on it.
