Deebo Samuel has insane sneaker collection you’ve got to see
By Peter Panacy
49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel definitely has some swag when he’s on the field, but his off-field sneaker collection is also pretty impressive.
The San Francisco 49ers don’t hurt for stylistic players, and three-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel certainly has some of the fanciest styles and wardrobes out of any on the Niners roster.
Whether it’s featuring some of his notable jewelry or even paying homage to the late great Tommy Lister Jr. from the movie hit Friday, there’s no shortage of entertainment stemming from whatever Samuel is donning at any given time.
Following his insane 2021 campaign with San Francisco, a year in which he netted 1,770 all-purpose yards and 14 touchdowns en route to his first-ever first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections, Samuel has become a household name around NFL circles.
But there’s far more to the 49ers’ star “wide back” than just what’s seen on the gridiron.
Whistle’s ‘Days Off’ series goes behind the scenes with Deebo Samuel
Whistle, a platform for uplifting and energetic and entertaining sports-video media, partnered with Samuel to check out his life outside of game days in their series, “Days Off.”
And, as far as swag goes, Samuel has no shortage of what he collects.
Particularly sneakers.
“As you can see, I’m really into shoes,” Samuel told Whistle. “The one pair of shoes I really like the most, because I remember growing up that my dad made sure we had all the Jordans. I’ve still got the brand 11s, never have been laced up before, and I don’t think I’m ever going to lace them. That’s why I’ve got two pairs, you know what I’m saying? I just make sure we’ve got a cool pair and a pair we just walk around in and play around in.”
Most of us probably wish we had multiple pairs of Jordan 11s, too.
What does Deebo Samuel like to do on his day off?
Life during the regular season can be tough. Game days on Sunday are typically followed by a day or two of rest and relaxation before the Niners get back to business for the following with practices and film review on Wednesdays.
More practices on Thursdays and Fridays, too.
Samuel also pointed out he typically enjoys massages and acupuncture when he gets some away time, but it’s not his dream scenario.
“Me, personally, I feel like I need my space,” Samuel said when asked about an ideal day off. “I like to spend my off days by myself. If I could have a day off, I’d prefer to go on a day vacation somewhere and just sit out on the beach and listen to the water, just chill and take my mind off stuff.”
Not a bad idea.

In addition to spending time outside of the facility, Samuel never hesitates to sign autographs and help out with memorabilia.
All the parts of becoming an NFL superstar, a route San Francisco fans have watched Samuel take ever since he was selected in Round 2 of the 2019 NFL Draft.
