With Super Bowl LVI over, Niner Noise looks at five free agents from the 49ers could look to sign from both the Rams and Bengals heading into 2022

With another season done and dusted, and the offseason officially beginning, the San Francisco 49ers will be looking to see how they go even further into the playoffs and get that long-awaited sixth Super Bowl victory.

They’ll have extra motivation to do so as well, with archrivals the Los Angeles Rams defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20 in Super Bowl LVI to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the NFC West.

The 49ers have a very talented roster but they still have some areas they’ll need to address coming into next season. The Rams and the Bengals have quite a few talented free agents, too, who could be pilfered to help bolster their roster for a run at the Super Bowl.

Let’s look at five of those players hitting the NFL free agency market from both LA and Cincy.

49ers Free-Agent Target No. 1: C Brian Allen, Rams

The 49ers made a savvy free-agent signing in center Alex Mack, who was very solid anchoring the middle of the offensive line and was rewarded with a trip to the Pro Bowl as an alternate.

However, Mack is already mulling retirement and may only have one more year left in him even if he does return. Should Mack decide to hang up the boots, the Niners may decide to look to their rivals and poach their center.

Brian Allen is a terrific center who specializes in run blocking and has a lot of his career ahead of him, given he’s only 26 years old. He could help anchor the middle of the offensive line for the next decade.

He’s in line for a good contact given his age and performance, but a center doesn’t break the salary cap all that much.

With the cap space the 49ers can save up this offseason, they could easily afford Allen.
