49ers Dud: Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo
For the second consecutive week, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo struggled to find consistency for 60 minutes.
In the first quarter, he appeared to find a rhythm early, but his efforts proved ineffective due to dropped passes by his receiving corps.
Garoppolo’s early drives forced the Niners to punt on four consecutive possessions, and he was held to 103 yards passing and threw an interception inside the 5-yard line on the team’s only trip to the red zone.
Despite two lackluster performances in the playoffs this year, Garoppolo continues to come out on top. He’s been lucky thus far. His shortcomings have been outweighed by a crippling defense, and a productive run game.
If he wants to beat the Rams next week in the NFC Championship, he needs to learn how to slow down the game and play a full 60 minutes of football.
