The 49ers will play the Rams for the third time this season, this time in the NFC Championship game, and we’ve got your betting odds and prediction here.

If recent trends mean anything, the San Francisco 49ers are going to the Super Bowl.

This, of course, because Niners head coach Kyle Shanahan has beaten Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay six consecutive times.

OK, so none of those previous matchups matter that much, at least in terms of the glory from capturing the NFC Championship, which both teams will be vying for after San Francisco pulled off the frozen victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field, followed by LA’s road win over the defending Super Bowl champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round.

In Week 10 during the regular season, the 49ers dominated Los Angeles 31-10. In Week 18’s must-win game for the Niners, they had to overcome a 17-0 deficit to pull off a 27-24 overtime victory.

Needless to say, these two teams know each other awfully well, and it’ll surely be interesting to see if San Francisco fans can stage another takeover at SoFI Stadium.

All for the rights to advance to the Super Bowl.

49ers vs. Rams odds for NFC Championship game

The opening spread for the NFC Championship game lists the 49ers as 3.5-point road underdogs, according to the oddsmakers over at WynnBET.

It shouldn’t be too overly surprising to see the Niners as underdogs, perhaps citing the quarterback comparison between San Francisco’s Jimmy Garoppolo and Los Angeles’ Matthew Stafford, the latter carrying a bit more offensive thump than Garoppolo over two postseason games.

Garoppolo hasn’t played overly well in back-to-back weeks but managed to be on the right side of the outcome.

The 49ers’ moneyline is +150, while the Rams’ is -180.

The over/under for the game is 46.5.

49ers vs. Rams prediction NFC Championship game

Facing LA is probably the most ideal situation the Niners could have asked for here.

For starters, the travel is negligible, and the red and gold crowd at SoFI Stadium could be huge, just like it was in Week 18. Tack on San Francisco’s six-game win streak over Los Angeles, and there’s not much of a reason to suspect the 49ers knowing how to beat McVay and Co.

There’s not much substance to predict anything else here: San Francisco will win 24-20 and advance to the Super Bowl, yet that’s not the most remarkable part.

Just recall how the 49ers were 3-5 earlier this season and looking at the very real possibility of not making the NFL playoffs, right into the final seconds of the regular season.

But they did, now they’re here.
