For the 49ers to win against the Rams in week 18, they must tailor their offensive game plan to include these key strategies.

The San Francisco 49ers will have complete control of their playoff destiny when they take on the Los Angeles Rams this Sunday.

Win the game, and the Niners will be included in the 2021 NFL playoffs. Lose, and they will have to depend on the Atlanta Falcons to beat the New Orleans Saints, which will also be played Sunday afternoon.

This game will be a rematch of the Week 10 showdown, where San Francisco dominated the Rams on the way to a 31-10 victory.

Adjustments will be made by both teams, so beyond a successful game plan, the 49ers will have to be creative in their play-calling and keep Los Angeles off balance. There have been players acquired since the first meeting and some who were unavailable due to injury who will be returning.

The Niners must go into this game with a determined effort of controlling the line of scrimmage, dominating time of possession, and eliminating turnovers. This was part of the original strategy from way back in Week 10, and it worked to perfection.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea for head coach Kyle Shanahan and Co. to look back at doing so once more, and there are clear-cut ways how San Francisco can help execute this strategy again in Week 18.
