The 49ers have taken over the top end of 2022 Pro Bowl voting, and these two players are already in the top five of fan-counted votes.

San Francisco 49ers fans sure know how to turn out and vote when it comes to selecting favorite players to the Pro Bowl.

Or, just as possibly, the names of some well-known Niners are merely traveled well across the NFL universe.

While the official voting results for the 2022 Pro Bowl aren’t quite known yet, and fan-based voting already ended on Dec. 16, it’s shaping up to look like San Francisco will be well-represented at the NFL’s annual All-Star exhibition game this season.

Because, at least according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, 49ers EDGE Nick Bosa and fullback Kyle Juszczyk are already among the top-five vote-getters so far:

Neither player should be considered a surprise. Juszczyk, in light of there not exactly being much competition at his now-rare position, is poised to be named to his sixth Pro Bowl in a row. Few other fullbacks around the league offer up the kind of combination Juszczyk does, and that was on full display in the 49ers’ Week 15 home win against the Atlanta Falcons where Juszczyk rushed in for a 6-yard touchdown.

And if we’re being honest, Bosa is tearing up the league, too.

Shocking no one, Bosa has been the Niners’ most dominant defensive player this season.

Already a potential favorite to secure the league’s Comeback Player of the Year award after tearing his ACL early in 2020, Bosa is among the NFL’s leaderboard with sacks this season (15) and is only 4.5 away from tying a single-season franchise record held by former Niners EDGE Aldon Smith, set back in 2012.

On top of that, Bosa also leads the league with 18 tackles for a loss.

Bosa, unlike many of the other players within San Francisco’s defense, has the name recognition, partially stemming from his collegiate days at Ohio State and certainly aided by the prowess of his older brother, Los Angeles Chargers EDGE Joey Bosa.

Like it or not, that matters when it comes to fan voting.

The opening 2022 Pro Bowl rosters will be announced on Wednesday, Dec. 22.
