49ers inactives vs. Seahawks: Fred Warner to miss first NFL start
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers are going to be shorthanded at linebacker versus the Seahawks, and Fred Warner will end up missing his first NFL game with an injury.
The San Francisco 49ers may be on a bit of a hot streak as they prepare to face off against the 3-8 Seattle Seahawks in Week 13.
But the Niners are going to be a bit shorthanded after suffering some injury attrition during last week’s home victory over the Minnesota Vikings.
During that game, wide receiver Deebo Samuel exited late with a groin injury, and San Francisco also watched linebackers Dre Greenlaw, Marcell Harris and All-Pro Fred Warner leave with injuries, too.
All four will be unavailable for the 49ers’ road bout versus the Hawks.

The Niners listed the following players as Week 13 inactives:
- WR Deebo Samuel
- LB Fred Warner
- LB Dre Greenlaw
- LB Marcell Harris
- OL Colton McKivitz
- DL Maurice Hurst
Greenlaw made his comeback from a Week 1 groin injury that required surgery last week but had to leave after reaggravating it. Warner, meanwhile, didn’t return after suffering a hamstring injury against Minnesota.
Up to that point, Warner had made each one of his starts ever since being drafted in Round 3 of the 2018 NFL Draft, and that consecutive-start streak now comes to a close.

There was some thinking Warner, who was listed doubtful last Friday, could suit up and play, especially with him participating in pregame warmups:
Now, the hope is Warner and Samuel will be cleared for the team’s Week 14 road matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
In their absences, San Francisco will be expected to rely heavily on third-year pro Azeez Al-Shaair, who has shown notable improvement in a prominent role this year with Greenlaw out for all but two games.
The 49ers and Seahawks kick off on Sunday, Dec. 5 at 4:25 p.m. ET from Lumen Field in Seattle.
