No. 2: Jimmy Garoppolo tosses the first of 2 interceptions

The stat geeks will say Jimmy Garoppolo had an OK game on Sunday, passing for 299 yards by completing 66 percent of his passes and throwing two touchdowns.

Albeit against two interceptions, and neither one of those was pretty.

Perhaps we should give Garoppolo a bit of a pass for his second of those two picks, grabbed by Seahawks defensive back Quandre Diggs on an attempt where the quarterback probably thought tight end George Kittle was 9-foot tall.

But, Garoppolo’s first interception? Inconceivable.

At the 8:43 mark of the first quarter and already after a pretty wild opening few minutes, Garoppolo somehow didn’t see Hawks linebacker Bobby Wagner in the middle of the field, and it’s hard to determine exactly where Jimmy G was going with this pass:

Seriously, who was Garoppolo targeting on that pass?

Garoppolo has long since had a problem identifying lurking linebackers between the numbers, and this was another prime example of his mistakes over the years.

Seattle would score points off both of Garoppolo’s interceptions.
