49ers roster: 3 players who should rank higher in Pro Bowl voting

49ers Pro Bowler No. 1: Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel
Again, there’s a reason why Jonathan Taylor and Cooper Kupp are right up there towards the top of Pro Bowl vote-getters at this point in the season. They’re Nos. 1 and 2 in the all-purpose yards department with 1,444 and 1,136, respectively.
Right behind those two, however, is 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel.
Samuel’s 1,131 yards from scrimmage speaks to the kind of use the Niners intend for him. In a sense, he’s a running back playing wide receiver. Or, sometimes, the other way around. It depends how you view him, and that’s awfully rare for a wideout anyway. Not even Kupp is going to be used in that kind of way.
Ahead of Week 12, Samuel is a mere 6 yards away from hitting the 1,000-yard mark, becoming San Francisco’s first wide receiver to do so since Anquan Boldin back in 2014, and Samuel’s 994 receiving yards rank second only behind Kupp, too, in the NFL leaderboard.
More impressive, perhaps, is the fact the 49ers have let Samuel rush for 137 yards this season, which is actually tied for third most on the team through 11 weeks.
Too bad the voting prompts don’t emphasize all-purpose yards or overall dynamic abilities, as Samuel has proven to be the epitome of meshing those two.
