The NFL released its early Pro Bowl voting results, and some 49ers players certainly deserve to rank higher and be in the top five.

In many ways, the annual fan-based Pro Bowl voting process is a popularity contest, and there’s usually going to be a lot of name recognition out there.

For many reasons, this is the right way to go about it. Fans drive the sport and enjoy it the most, and it also gives those fans a chance to decide which players are standing out the most any given season.

As far as the San Francisco 49ers go, there are a number of players who should be deserving of a Pro Bowl nod this season, yet they’re not represented in the top five of early Pro Bowl voting results ahead of Week 12.

The NFL just released those early results, and there shouldn’t be too many surprises with the top-five selections:

Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor has been taking the league by storm, currently leading the NFL with 1,444 all-purpose yards and 15 touchdowns. Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp currently has more receiving yards than anyone, while the remaining three are pretty well-established standout players.

No Niners, though.

These three San Francisco players certainly deserve to be up high in the standings. And while we won’t argue whether or not they should be in the top five, meaning we’d have to switch one player for another, it sure is safe enough to make the point why these three 49ers have to at least be in the running for the top vote-getters so far this season.

Let’s make the argument why for each.
