The 49ers went through an awfully tough stretch earlier this season, but these three players’ respective turnarounds have helped the Niners turn around, too.

The San Francisco 49ers have gone through plenty of ebbs and flows this season, kicking things off strong with a two-game win streak to open up the year before dropping four games in a row in gut-wrenching fashion.

And losing five of six games didn’t help matters either.

Since that low point in the season when head coach Kyle Shanahan and many of his players effectively had no answers for what was wrong, the Niners have experienced quite the turnaround.

While a 5-5 record through 11 weeks isn’t exactly the mark of an upper-echelon team, San Francisco has at least rediscovered its winning ways, winning three of its last four games, and with that has come some semblance of an identity that was so lacking earlier in 2021. The 49ers have pummeled their last two opponents, the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars, by a combined score of 61-20 in those two weeks. Now, the Niners are right back on the cusp of the playoff discussion not far removed from that being a complete pipedream.

Turnarounds don’t happen in a vacuum, though. It takes players upping their game and performing better than what was previously delivered to engineer a team resurgence.

Luckily for Shanahan and Co., San Francisco has received that from a number of players who were struggling much earlier in the season.

Particularly these three, who have essentially turned their own seasons around towards being key contributors.
