The 49ers are favorites for their Week 11 road contest against the Jaguars, but there’s always the possibility of this being a trap game for San Francisco.

The San Francisco 49ers aren’t hoping their emotional and all-impact impressive Week 10 Monday Night Football win over the Los Angeles Rams winds up leading to a letdown game on a short week when the Niners travel across the country to take on the 2-7 Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 11.

It does have the makings of a pure trap game, after all.

Now at 4-5 and half a game out of a playoff berth, San Francisco should be a dominant favorite in this contest, and the odds are suggesting such. But if the 49ers go back to being flat, there’s always the risk of falling victim to the Jags’ third win of the year and back to the embarrassment of being an underperforming squad.

49ers injury report vs. Jaguars Week 11

A week ago, the Niners ran the ball 44 times and featured rookie running back Elijah Mitchell heavily, except he suffered a broken finger and wasn’t able to practice this week.

The following players showed up on San Francisco’s injury report for Week 11:

  • RB JaMycal Hasty (ankle): OUT
  • DL Maurice Hurst (calf): OUT
  • RB Elijah Mitchell (finger): Doubtful

It’s likely, however, the Niners swap out Mitchell with veteran running back Jeff Wilson Jr., who made his return in Week 10 after suffering a torn meniscus during the offseason.

49ers vs. Jaguars odds, spread, over/under & betting pick Week 11

Yes, San Francisco is notably better and more talented than a rebuilding Jacksonville squad, and the oddsmakers over at WynnBET certainly note this, listing the Niners as 6.5-point favorites for this contest, the line moving in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad’s favor from the opening -6.

San Francisco’s moneyline is -280, while Jacksonville’s is +240. The over/under is 45.0.

It’s feasible the Niners get off to a sluggish start, impacted both by the short week and extensive travel that followed. Yet the Jaguars’ own offense lacks talent despite fielding the No. 1 overall pick from this year’s NFL Draft, quarterback Trevor Lawrence, meaning a lower-scoring affair is likely.

Let’s predict a 24-13 win for Shanahan and Co, which would at least have the Niners covering, too.
