No. 3: Deebo Samuel played running back

49ers stud wide receiver Deebo Samuel continued his fantastic season finishing the game with five receptions for 97 yards and a touchdown. He also added 36 rushing yards and a touchdown on five rushing attempts.

Samuel’s versatility was on full display yet again this past week, lining up all over the field. Samuel saw a season-high five carries and even lined up as the primary running back on a few of those plays.

As Jimmy Garoppolo lined up on 1st-and-goal, Samuel spelled him directly to his left and was given the handoff, and after a cutback, scampered in for an 8-yard touchdown:

Samuel is single-handedly carrying this 49ers receiving corps and is now second in the NFL in receiving yards with 979. He only trails the Rams’ Cooper Kupp for the league lead, the impressive thing about Samuel is that he trails by 172 yards and Kupp has 31 more catches.

Samuel is averaging 18.1 yards per reception despite catching the ball close to the line of scrimmage more often than not.

Simply put, his explosiveness is something teams will be more and more mindful of as he continues to dominate this season.
