With the 49ers defense struggling this season, the Rams figure to score a lot of points, meaning taking the over in Week 10 betting odds makes sense.

The San Francisco 49ers have lost each one of their NFC West games this season, capped off by the Arizona Cardinals sweeping the 2021 series by defeating head coach Kyle Shanahan’s squad in a decisive 31-17 victory in Week 9 at Levi’s Stadium.

In the loss, the Niners ensured their woes at home would continue, and it’s been well over a year since San Francisco actually won a game at Levi’s Stadium.

Losers of four of their last five games, the 49ers don’t face an easy task in Week 10 when they get to host the 7-2 Los Angeles Rams, who were recently upset at home by the Tennessee Titans in a prime-time matchup that should do plenty to anger head coach Sean McVay and Co. ahead of their Week 10 Monday Night Football road matchup against the Niners.

Judging by the way San Francisco has played as of late, especially within its own division, there are few reasons to expect little else than a blowout.

Sure, this season has been weird, and the Rams being named by WynnBET as merely a four-point favorite seems like a strange line.

Still, the 49ers have struggled to cover the spread this season, and there’s still another bet that might make sense heading into Monday night.

49ers vs. Rams: Over/under set at 48.5 for Monday Night Football

This certainly doesn’t feel like a shootout for those wondering if a high-scoring affair will be in order between these two NFC West rivals.

After all, before allowing 28 points to the Titans in Week 9 in a game that involved more self-inflicted wounds than anything else, Los Angeles went four consecutive games allowing less than 25 points. In three of those four, opposing offenses failed to reach the 20-point threshold.

In contrast, the Niners have scored more than 20 points in just three of their last four contests, and they’ve averaged just 16 points in each of their three inter-division bouts this season.

But that’s not why fans should look closely at betting the over, which is currently set at 48.5 heading into this contest.

49ers betting odds: Rams should put up points in a hurry

The Rams enter Week 10 with the league’s No. 10-ranked scoring defense, having given up 196 total points on the year. So, it still might be troublesome for San Francisco to hang in the game and go score-to-score with a highly potent Los Angeles offense.

Instead, all one needs to do is factor in LA’s offense, No. 5 overall in scoring this season, which boasts the No. 1 wide receiver in the NFL so far, Cooper Kupp, who is the only player to already have crested 1,000 receiving yards on the season.

Aside from the 16 points scored in the flop of their Week 9 performance, the Rams twice scored 38 points in the last four weeks and also tallied 28 points in the game between for a four-game average of 30 points per contest during that span. True, those three matchups other than the Titans included lowly squads like the New York Giants, Houston Texans and winless Detroit Lions.

But based on the way the 49ers defense has been playing as of late, it wouldn’t be shocking to see Los Angeles drive up the score.

The Niners defense has surrendered an average of 25 points per game the last four weeks, and the Rams are perfectly equipped to average more than that.

San Francisco and Los Angeles kick off on Monday, Nov. 15 at 8:15 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
