49ers game Monday: 49ers vs. Rams odds and prediction for NFL Week 10 game
By Peter Panacy
After getting blown out by the Cardinals in Week 9, the 49ers surprisingly aren’t heavy underdogs at home against the Rams in Week 10.
The San Francisco 49ers are coming off one of their worst performances in head coach Kyle Shanahan’s tenure, losing 31-17 to a Colt McCoy-led Arizona Cardinals team that was without quarterback Kyler Murray, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and even running back Chase Edmonds, the latter after just his lone carry.
Even though the Los Angeles Rams lost ugly to the Tennessee Titans on Sunday Night Football just hours after the Niners’ own defeat, one can still see the stark contrast between the two NFC West foes as they prepare for another prime-time showdown in Week 10 on Monday Night Football.
In short, an angry Rams team that coughed up its second loss of the season could easily take its revenge on a disjointed San Francisco squad.
Weird things have happened this season, including plenty of unpredictable losses and victories across the league. But Week 10 sure seems to be shaping up to be another 49ers blowout.
49ers vs. Rams odds Week 10
Interestingly enough, though, the oddsmakers over at WynnBET don’t seem to think Week 10 will be a Rams blowout, currently opening the line with the Niners as 4.5-point underdogs.
Perhaps this will be a response by bettors to eventually run towards Los Angeles after San Francisco lost so convincingly, realizing the line could potentially move even more with the Rams finally suiting up recently acquired EDGE Von Miller from the Denver Broncos.
Miller sat during his Rams debut but fully expects to play in Week 10.
The moneyline for the 49ers in this contest is -115 right now, while the Rams are at -105.
The over/under for this contest is 49.5.
49ers vs. Rams prediction Week 10
Even though the line seems closer than it should be, suggesting the remote possibility of the upset, it’s hard to realistically predict the Niners somehow figuring out their woes on both sides of the ball.
Granted, San Francisco managed to get a quality game in back-to-back weeks from quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk and tight end George Kittle both contributed nicely, although all three players committed turnovers in Week 9.
Yet the 49ers defense was easily carved up by McCoy and No. 2 running back James Conner, and one can only shirk at the idea Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford will have far more success dicing up whatever the Niners are trying to construct within their secondary.
Don’t look for San Francisco to cover, let alone win in this one, instead Los Angeles will come away with a dominant 28-17 victory on Monday night.
