The 49ers may not be overly aggressive at the 2021 NFL trade deadline, but they sure would hate to see their NFC West rivals make these moves.

The San Francisco 49ers are in a bit of limbo when it comes to figuring out whether they should be buyers or sellers at the 2021 NFL trade deadline in early November.

On one hand, general manager John Lynch recognizes his trade assets are limited, namely being without two future first-round NFL Draft picks, plus a 2022 Round 3 selection, in the wake of the deal that netted the team quarterback Trey Lance last April. And with the Niners having just over $4 million in cap space right now, taking on any high-profile player would ultimately require some notable roster jockeying to make financial room.

At the same time, San Francisco has plenty of roster holes to fill, and it still might not be too late to salvage a 2-4 season by being aggressive between now and the deadline.

Equally difficult to monitor, though, is going to be the activity by the 49ers’ NFC West division rivals, who could also act aggressively in an attempt to bolster their own rosters for a would-be playoff push. Just recently, the Arizona Cardinals executed a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles for standout tight end Zach Ertz, who just so happened to score a touchdown in his Arizona debut in Week 7.

Good deal for the Cardinals. A point of concern for the Niners.

Here are four other possible deadline-deal trades San Francisco would hate to see happen in the NFC West.
