49ers game Sunday: 49ers vs. Colts odds and prediction for NFL Week 7 game
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers look to bounce back after their bye with a prime-time Sunday Night Football bout against the Colts in Week 7, and here are your betting odds.
There may not be too many reasons for the national fanbase to tune into the San Francisco 49ers and Indianapolis Colts for their prime-time Sunday Night Football contest in Week 7.
Well, at least fans of now-Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner will come back home in an attempt to torment the team that drafted him, only to trade him away before the 2020 season. That’s a small storyline.
For the 2-3 Niners, though, Week 7 presents an opportunity for a get-right game against the Colts, who are still mired in the underperforming AFC South yet managed to blow out the Houston Texans 31-3 last weekend.
Buckner and the Indianapolis defense is still a potent unit, which doesn’t bode well for a San Francisco offense that’s dealt with both injuries and inconsistency this season.
49ers vs. Colts odds Week 7
The oddsmakers over at WynnBET nevertheless pay close attention to this game because of the prime-time nature of it, naming the 49ers 4.5-point favorites over Indy.
Perhaps San Francisco getting that two-week break in between its last loss and this game, adding to the much-needed rest and preparation times influenced that decision, as well as home teams typically getting 3-point advantages anyway.
As far as the moneyline goes, the Niners are currently listed at -200, while the Colts are at +175.
The over/under for this game is 44.5.
49ers vs. Colts prediction Week 7
Despite rookie quarterback Trey Lance getting his first start in Week 5 against the Arizona Cardinals, signs are still pointing towards head coach Kyle Shanahan reverting back to Jimmy Garoppolo under center, and San Francisco will hope that’ll be enough to match up against Colts quarterback Carson Wentz, who has completed 64.2 percent of his passes this year with a passer rating of 102.4.
A potential advantage for the 49ers, as long as Shanahan and Garoppolo can figure out their defensive shortcomings against an Indianapolis defense allowing 5.9 yards per play.

Despite the Niners’ struggles this year, it’s still hard to envision a four-game losing streak, particularly in the wake of the added week of preparation.
While the previous weeks have been frustrating, let’s go ahead and predict San Francisco gets some things right by pulling off a 24-20 victory on Sunday night.
