The 49ers visit the Eagles for Week 2, and Niner Noise breaks down three specific reasons why the red and gold pull off the victory.

The San Francisco 49ers‘ Week 1 victory over the Detroit Lions cost a lot.

First, it probably shaved some minutes off Niners fans’ lives after they watched their team desperately try to stave off a late fourth-quarter comeback in what was originally a lopsided affair en route to a 41-33 nail-biter. Then additionally, San Francisco lost starting running back Raheem Mostert and No. 1 cornerback Jason Verrett to season-ending knee injuries.

Why can’t things just come easily?

Truth be told, there’s no such thing as an “easy win” in the NFL, even if there are lopsided scores. And after the 49ers’ Week 2 opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, pummeled the Atlanta Falcons 32-6 last weekend, one might see why the Niners will have their hands full again this upcoming Sunday.

The Eagles are superior an opponent than the Lions. Yet Philly also has to recognize San Francisco is vastly superior than Atlanta, so the green birds can’t exactly feel overly confident this Week 2 bout at Lincoln Financial Field will be generating a similar outcome.

Despite the 49ers’ injuries, there are still plenty of concrete reasons why they’ll come away with a victory over the Eagles in Week 2 aside from just being the superior team and pound-for-pound favorite. The Niners have far more playmakers at their disposal than the Falcons, and on both sides of the ball, too.

So, from the eternal optimist’s viewpoint, let’s break down three reasons why San Francisco improves to 2-0 once Sunday’s game is in the books.
