49ers game today: 49ers vs. Lions injury report, schedule, live stream, TV channel and betting preview for Week 1 NFL game
By Peter Panacy
The 49ers open up their 2021 regular-season campaign on the road against the Lions, and we’ve got your betting info, injuries and how to watch right here.
After months of waiting, the San Francisco 49ers finally kick off their 2021 regular-season campaign on the road against the Detroit Lions, which will be a prime opportunity for the Niners to get reacquainted with their old friend from the Los Angeles Rams, quarterback Jared Goff.
Goff has a 3-5 record in eight career starts against San Francisco. And this time, Goff’s offensive supporting cast will lack the firepower he once enjoyed in Southern California.
Even though it’s only Week 1, the 49ers have already been dealing with some injuries in advance of the contest.
49ers injury report vs. Lions Week 1
The following Niners players have been listed on the team’s injury report against Detroit:
- DL Kevin Givens (foot) — questionable
- WR Jalen Hurd (knee) — OUT
- DL Javon Kinlaw (knee) — doubtful
- CB Emmanuel Moseley (knee) — doubtful
- QB Trey Lance (finger) — probable
Lance’s fractured figure suffered during the preseason appears to be healed up well enough, yet the bigger concern might be who starts in place of Moseley.
49ers vs. Lions odds and betting pick Week 1
San Francisco is listed as a 7.5-point road favorite over Detroit, according to WynnBET’s Week 1 NFL odds.
This is a pretty substantial margin, but it does take into account the 49ers are a likely playoff-bound team, whereas Goff and the Lions are going through the initial phase of a complete team rebuild under first-year head coach Dan Campbell.
And while Detroit has a respectable offensive line already, Goff’s lack of supporting weaponry likely means the Niners will have an easy time covering the spread and winning by double-digit points, even.
Our prediction? A nice 24-10 victory for San Francisco.
