Trey Lance: 3 bold predictions for 49ers QB in 2021
Everyone is probably wondering what rookie Trey Lance will be able to do in his rookie year with the 49ers, so here’s our best guess!
A lot of San Francisco 49ers fans are likely divided on whether newly drafted rookie sensation Trey Lance should be given the reins from the jump over veteran signal-caller Jimmy Garoppolo.
But now that it has been all but officially announced Jimmy G will be given the starting duties, it’s time to speculate about Lance’s rookie year and take a look at some bold possibilities in 2021.
Lance had a mixed preseason, flashed some major arm talent, while also showing his accuracy can be improved before he is given the top spot. He also had a few electric rushing plays that show exactly what is in store for the Niners offense in the future. He was also the quarterback whose wide receivers dropped the most passes in all of the preseason, which brought down his accuracy numbers.
He finished with a final stat line of 276 yards, three passing touchdowns, one interception, one rushing touchdown, and a lowly completion percentage of 46 percent.
Remember, though. Nine drops is a lot over a three-game stretch.
That said, and while any prediction is essentially a fallout from Lance doing the first thing on this list, let’s jump right into three bold predictions for Lance this coming season.
