The 49ers have had some misses in the NFL Draft, and a number of these players are now back on the open market after originally flaming out in San Francisco.

No team is immune to having serious gaffes in the NFL Draft. And if you want some fun, just do a Google search on each team’s worst NFL Draft pick of all time.

For the San Francisco 49ers, you might see some recency bias aimed at their 2017 No. 3 overall pick, now-Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Solomon Thomas.

Thomas, despite never coming close to panning out at the desired level of expectations, nevertheless managed to be a key contributor for the Niners over the course of his first four years, if only as a rotational player and backup.

The same can’t exactly be said of a number of other players who never even reached that four-year mark.

Admittedly, there’s always the “Who cares? He doesn’t play here anymore” crowd. Yet it can be interesting to see what some former San Francisco draftees are up to these days.

Particularly if their most recent attempts to land a new job haven’t panned out.

In the wake of all 32 teams’ recent cuts to get their rosters down to 53 players, a number of recent 49ers alumni have found themselves out of a job. Some of them were even pretty high-profile players, too,

And while one can always hope they wind up finding another opportunity soon — probably not with the Niners, though — here are three former San Francisco draft picks who are updating their proverbial NFL LinkedIn profile.
