49ers Tight Ends (4)

TE George Kittle

TE Ross Dwelley

TE Charlie Woerner

TE MyCole Pruitt

No changes here from last time, although the question of whether Kyle Shanahan will go with four tight ends or choose to use one of these spots elsewhere on the roster could still be up in the air.

If that happens, MyCole Pruitt will most certainly be on the outside looking in, as both Ross Dwelley and Charlie Woerner have proven themselves worthy of not only roster spots but increased roles in the offense for 2021 in support of the All-Pro, George Kittle.

Pruitt is mostly a blocking tight end and Shanahan may eventually decide that having him on the roster isn’t particularly useful for this team and allow him to walk, but the other three, including All-Pro George Kittle, are locked into their places.

Veteran Jordan Matthews, who was making the switch from wide receiver to tight end, just didn’t do enough, in the end, to make this team, although he could be someone the 49ers have in mind later in the season if they help in either pass-catchers room.
