The preseason is over and final roster cuts are due on Tuesday, so Niner Noise takes one last stab at predicting the 49ers 2021 initial 53 man roster.

The San Francisco 49ers ended their preseason with an emphatic 34-10 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders in a matchup where quarterbacks Jimmy Garappolo and Trey Lance featured heavily en route to a 20-point first half.

With the preseason all done and dusted, general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan will turn their attention to crafting their initial 53-man roster for the 2021 season, a task that won’t be an easy one.

Some of the positions are well entrenched, while others are quite top-heavy with scores of questions regarding who will eventually make the team. To some extent, those decisions will come down to whether or not the Niners feel comfortable subjecting certain players to the waiver wire. In other cases, the choice may come down to a young player with a high upside versus the known quantity of a veteran.

Thankfully, I’m not the one responsible for making these difficult choices, but that doesn’t stop the speculation from happening. This being the third shot at the roster, most of the commentary here will be focused on comparisons to previous predictions.

And then there’s nothing left to do but wait and see what the 49ers ultimately decide to do once the rosters are due on Tuesday.
