A lot of San Francisco 49ers fans were shocked when the front office traded two fourth-round picks to move up to the third round in the 2021 NFL Draft and select former Oklahoma and Ohio State running back Trey Sermon.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan hasn’t traditionally targeted running backs that high in the draft, so it did come as a surprise.
