The 49ers visit the Chargers for Week 2 of the preseason, and you’ll want to keep an eye on these three non-Trey Lance players during the game.

The San Francisco 49ers have already made their opening wave of 2021 roster cuts, arguably the easiest of moves to make in the attempt to get down from 90 players to 53 ahead of Week 1 of the regular season.

Now, following their exhibition Week 1 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Niners head to Southern California for a matchup with the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.

Naturally, the overwhelming bulk of attention is going to be on rookie quarterback Trey Lance, who flashed some absolute promise during his NFL preseason debut last weekend against Kansas City but also showed signs of his rawness, suggesting he’s not quite ready to fully seize the starting job from the veteran, Jimmy Garoppolo.

Lance will need his reps, and he’ll likely get plenty of those in Week 2 of the preseason, testing his mettle in a more hostile environment than what he experienced in his first NFL action at Levi’s Stadium over the weekend.

Unless the Faithful show up to take over SoFI Stadium, too, which is entirely plausible.

Either way, Lance is going to be a high-profile player to watch by default. Being the No. 3 overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft essentially warrants that kind of attention.

Yet there are plenty of other players on San Francisco’s roster worth paying attention to in this game as well, and fans should hone in on these three in particular as the 49ers gear up to play the Bolts this weekend.
