No. 3 49ers player: Ken Webster, Cornerback

Ken Webster is in a similar situation to Tim Harris when it comes to the 49ers cornerback situation.

The only difference is while Harris has been injured again, Webster has been very poor on the field and doesn’t look at all like a starter.

And this is key, as the 49ers have been giving Webster a lot of reps with the first team while Emmanuel Moseley has been sidelined on the COVID list.

Grant Cohn gave a typically blunt appraisal on how Webster has gone on Sports Illustrated:

"Split time with Moseley at cornerback for the first-string defense and got beaten repeatedly by damn near every wide receiver on the roster. I’m convinced the 49ers play Webster with the starters just so Garoppolo has someone to pick on. The 49ers need to demote Webster pronto. Thomas and Lenoir are better than him right now."

I mean, that says it all.
