49ers Running Back

At running back is an individual who is one of only seven players to have 2,000-plus rushing yards in a season.

O.J. Simpson attended Galileo High School in San Francisco and he even attended City College of San Francisco before transferring to USC.

Simpson was selected first overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 1969 NFL Draft. He would spend nine years in Buffalo. During that time he would have six Pro Bowl and five All-Pro selections. He also won the MVP Award in 1973 for his 2,003-yard rushing season.

Simpson came back to his hometown Niners in 1978 via a trade where he would spend his last two NFL seasons. He would finish his career with 11,236 yards rushing.
