49ers Wide Receiver

To find a top wide receiver in 49ers franchise history from Northern California, we had to go old school.

When you look at the No. 5 guy in franchise receiving yards for the Niners, you find Billy Wilson. He played for the 49ers from 1951 to 1960. Considering that the franchise has only been around since 1946, he was a pioneer who we should remember as such.

Wilson attended Campbell High School in Campbell, California, before going on to San Jose State. The Niners selected him in the 1950 NFL Draft.

In his 10-year career, all of which was played with San Francisco, Wilson was a six-time Pro Bowl and one-time All-Pro selection. He would finish his career with 5,902 yards receiving.

As mentioned, that put him at fifth all-time in receiving yards for the franchise.
