49ers Tight End

At tight end, we have the one and only Brent Jones. He was a native of San Jose, attending Leland High School in the area. He played college ball locally as well at Santa Clara University (when they had a football program).

Jones was initially drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the fifth round (135th overall) of the 1986 NFL Draft. Due to an injury that resulted from a car accident, the Steelers were forced to cut Jones before he even played in a game with them.

The 49ers signed homegrown talent Jones in 1987 where he spent all 11 years of his playing career. He would go onto win three Super Bowls with the Niners and was also selected to four straight Pro Bowls from 1992 to 1995.

Not bad at all.
