RG Aaron Banks

RT Mike McGlinchey

OT Shon Coleman

OT/OG/C Daniel Brunskill

OG Jaylon Moore

The starters here are all but unquestioned, with Trent Williams, Laken Tomlinson, Alex Mack, and Mike McGlinchey sure to be there and 2021 second-round draft pick Aaron Banks in the pole position to win the right guard job.

The injury to Justin Skule frees up someone to take over as the primary swing tackle, and while the team will give rookie Jaylon Moore the opportunity to show he can be the guy, look for the fifth-round draft pick out of Western Michigan to start his NFL career as a guard while learning to clean up his footwork on the outside.

That leaves veteran Shon Coleman as the likeliest of options there, as he’s the only other player on the roster who plays strictly as a tackle.

Daniel Brunskill has played or started all along the offensive line during his tenure in San Francisco, so if he doesn’t beat Banks for the starting right guard role, then look for him to be the swing-everything guy and possibly making Moore expendable on the gameday roster, at least for this season.

There’s an outside shot the 49ers end up with nine offensive linemen on the roster in order to keep around someone like Colton McKivitz, a late-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft out of West Virginia, but he could certainly benefit from time on the practice squad if possible.

Other than that, eight seems like the right number here.
