Richard Sherman: 4 teams that could sign former 49ers cornerback

No. 1: Richard Sherman goes back to 49ers’ rivals, the Seahawks
Talk about going full circle.
In terms of scheme fit, being on the West Coast and having the ability to compete for another championship, the Seahawks sure do make a lot of sense.
From a financial standpoint, it might be tough for Seattle to onboard Sherman, at least with only $7.25 million in available cap space right now. But some roster jockeying could pave the way for a two-year deal, and it isn’t as if the Seahawks are perfectly set within their secondary. At least not after losing cornerbacks Quinton Dunbar and Shaquill Griffin in free agency during the offseason.

Seattle might be far removed from its “Legion of Boom” days when Sherman was the spokesperson figure of its defense. But Sherman could go a long way towards helping rebuild such a unit again, even though he’d have to take something of a backseat role in favor of younger defensive backs like safety Jamal Adams.
That’d be fine, though. He’d undeniably be wanted back by Seahawks fans, and it’s important to note Sherman already lives in the Seattle area during the offseason anyway, making such a reunion an awfully comfortable one.
Although it certainly wouldn’t make 49ers fans overly happy to see something like this happen.
