While the 49ers’ official 2021 NFL schedule won’t be released until later on May 12, it looks like a late-season game against the Seahawks is on the table.

There are already some confirmed and unconfirmed reports about the San Francisco 49ers‘ 2021 NFL Schedule even though the actual schedule release won’t take place until 8 p.m. ET on May 12.

We already know which opponents the Niners will face this season, as that news has been made available for some time now and based on a last-place schedule, the two inter-division games San Francisco will have and which divisions the NFC West faces this year (the AFC South and NFC North).

But in case you forgot which teams, here you go:

49ers Home Opponents

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Atlanta Falcons
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Houston Texans
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Minnesota Vikings

49ers Road Opponents

  • Arizona Cardinals
  • Los Angeles Rams
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Chicago Bears
  • Cincinnati Bengals
  • Detroit Lions
  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • Philadelphia Eagles
  • Tennessee Titans

So far, confirmed reports are saying the 49ers will open up the 2021 regular season in Week 1 on the road against the Lions, per ESPN’s Field Yates, facing off against former Rams quarterback Jared Goff at Ford Field at 1 p.m. ET. And the Philadelphia Inquirer reported the Eagles will host the Niners in Week 2 at 1 p.m. ET.

According to The Athletic’s David Lombardi, San Francisco will have its home opener in Week 3 against the Green Bay Packers.

There are likely to be plenty of other schedule leaks between now and the official release time.

49ers to visit the Seahawks in Week 13?

Not substantiated yet. But our friends over at 49ers Webzone reported San Francisco will make its annual trek to Lumen Field in Seattle to take on its NFC West rivals, the Seahawks, in Week 13:

The buzz appears to be a prime-time Sunday Night Football matchup, which would be fitting in recollection of the legendary Week 17 tilt between these two teams back in 2019 when linebacker Dre Greenlaw ensured a 49ers win by stopping Seahawks tight end Jacob Hollister mere inches short of the goal line on Seattle’s last-ditch attempt to take the lead.

Last year, the Niners hosted the Seahawks in Week 17, although San Francisco had long since been eliminated from playoff contention, while Seattle’s win didn’t do much for its own playoff seeding.

It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see this year’s Week 13 bout be a decisive one in determining both the NFC West pecking order as well as having serious playoff implications.

The 49ers have a 17-27 record against the Seahawks and have won just twice over their last 14 regular-season games.

Hopefully, that trend changes again this year.
