NFC West draft grades: Los Angeles Rams

  • WR Tutu Atwell, Louisville (No. 57 overall)
  • LB Ernest Jones, South Carolina (No. 103)
  • DT Bobby Brown III, Texas A&M (No. 117)
  • CB Robert Rochell, Central Arkansas (No. 130)
  • WR Jacob Harris, UCF (No. 141)
  • DE Earnest Brown IV, Northwestern (No. 174)
  • RB Jake Funk, Maryland (No. 233)
  • WR Ben Skowronek, Notre Dame (No. 249)
  • OLB Chris Garrett, Concordia (No. 252)

The Rams were without a first-round pick, thanks to the deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars for cornerback Jalen Ramsey. But that didn’t stop Los Angeles from trying to find even more weapons for newly acquired quarterback Matthew Stafford in an attempt to get head coach Sean McVay’s offense back to being one of the most explosive in the NFC.

Wasn’t a fan of the second-round pick of Tutu Atwell. While explosive, the awfully small Atwell should have been a Round 3 selection, and he might have difficulty matching up against bigger defensive backs over the middle of the field.

Bobby Brown III and Earnest Brown IV were both quality pickups, though, and Ernest Jones fills a need at linebacker after trading Michael Brockers to the Detroit Lions.

Robert Rochell was a favorite sleeper pick and should be able to compete to start alongside Ramsey.

The Rams took a lot of gambles in the draft and reached a few times, but the potential upside makes this a slightly better-than-average class.
