49ers don’t want the Rams taking these players in the NFL Draft

Carlos Basham, EDGE, Wake Forest

The Rams desperately need a new EDGE to partner with Leonard Floyd. While there are few worth considering in the first round, there are a few who can provide value with the Rams’ first pick of the NFL Draft at No. 57 overall.

Carlos Basham has been a consistent EDGE for Wake Forest in his collegiate career and has been able to move inside and rush from the interior also. He could be a versatile pass-rushing player for the Rams and could make life difficult for the 49ers.

Joe Tryon, EDGE/Outside Linebacker, Washington

Joe Tryon opted out of playing in 2020 which affected his draft stock since he was a one-season wonder. But what a season it was, and it’s going to get him picked in the second round almost definitely.

Tryon had eight sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss and demonstrated a big skill for getting to the quarterback. With the weak EDGE class this year, he looms out as a potential boom-or-bust pick.

Andre Cisco, Safety, Syracuse

Safety is another position that’s pretty weak for the NFL Draft this year, but Andre Cisco looms as a potential sleeper as a big playmaker for the ball.

Cisco played only 24 games for Syracuse in his collegiate career but had 13 interceptions in the process. He’s a real ballhawk who knows how to get to the football.

The Rams need to find a replacement for now-current Cleveland Browns safety John Johnson, who left in free agency.
