49ers 7-round mock 2021 NFL Draft with only Big Ten players
49ers Round 7 Pick, No. 23o Overall: Wide Receiver Whop Philyor
The all-name team gets its crowned jewel with the 49ers’ final pick of the 2021 NFL Draft: Indiana wideout Mister Elias De’Angelo “Whop” Philyor (and yes, that’s really his full name).
Philyor is a shifty slot receiver who had a lot of touches manufactured for him at Indiana via screens and jet sweeps, something Kyle Shanahan has shown an affinity for with current Niners’ receivers Deebo Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk.

The Hoosiers’ pass-catcher’s most impressive campaign was his junior year where he caught 70 passes for 1,002 yards and five touchdowns while adding 10 rushes for 43 more yards. His senior season was solid but not as strong, finishing that year with 54 receptions for 495 yards, amounting to under 10 yards per catch.
Whop was also a punt returner during his junior season, suggesting that Indiana’s goal was to get the ball in his hands as often as possible, although he only averaged 3.3 yards per return on 15 attempts.
But Philyor is a versatile piece to the puzzle and could factor in as yet another YAC-Bro for San Francisco’s offense to employ. And he could even be a useful piece as Justin Fields allows Shanahan to open up the offense more and push the ball downfield.
For a seventh-round draft pick, Philyor would be a fun addition to the squad.
