NFL Draft Pick No. 6: Kyle Pitts, Tight End, Florida

Miami traded its No. 3 pick to the 49ers and then wasted no time in using it to trade back up to No. 6. But who are the Dolphins coveting?

The most likely answer is a weapon for Tua Tagovailoa, with the chances narrowing down to Kyle Pitts or wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

I’ve chosen Pitts here, just due to the fact he projects to be a simply incredible prospect at the top level.

I’ve written articles on Pitts before as my draft crush, and I would definitely have advocated for him at No. 3 if not for the fact the move was clearly for a quarterback. I’d have advocated a move here for him as well, but obviously, that won’t happen.

Pitts is a mismatch nightmare who’s too strong for defensive backs and too fast for linebackers. He’s a great athlete and receiver, and even his worst attribute (blocking) is still passable and would get better with technique.

The prolific offensive weapon caught 43 passes for 770 yards and 12 touchdowns in just eight games last year. He’s a phenom.

Pitts is my favorite player in this class, he’s worth buying a ticket to see alone.
