NFL Draft Pick No. 3: Justin Fields, Quarterback, Ohio State

Now we get to the pick everyone reading this is more interested in than any other. Will it be Mac Jones? Trey Lance? Justin Fields to San Francisco?

I’m going to pencil in Fields with absolutely zero confidence whatsoever. I just don’t see the value in trading up for any other quarterback than him here.

Fields is the best dual-threat quarterback in the draft, and you can almost describe him as a running back that can also throw the ball.

Fields threw for 2,100 yards, 22 touchdowns and six interceptions (in only eight games) and added five touchdowns on the ground as well. He’s extremely fast, agile, a good throw on the run and has the attributes to be a big star in the NFL.

The biggest question simply is who is the quarterback that head coach Kyle Shanahan has fallen in love with enough to trade up. Fields makes the most sense, as he provides an extra dimension to the 49ers offense with his legs.
