NFL Draft Pick No. 2: Zach Wilson, Quarterback, BYU

So who do the New York Jets take at No. 2 to kick off the Robert Saleh era of the franchise?

Currently, all the hype is around Zach Wilson, who looks a very strong possibility to be the second quarterback taken in the draft.

It’s easy to see why Wilson gained a lot of hype in 2020, with a series of strong performances for the BYU Cougars. He threw for 3,692 yards, 33 touchdowns and only three interceptions at a 73.5 percent completion rate while showing off his speedy legs with 10 more touchdowns on the ground.

Taking Lawrence out of the equation for a second, Wilson is the best combination of power, accuracy and speed in the NFL Draft. He can make any throw and be a threat on the ground and would be the No. 1 pick in a lot of other drafts.

Wilson does have a slight knock on him for being a bit of a brat, personality-wise, but he’s also a strong leader on the field and shouldn’t see his draft stock hampered.

This pick isn’t as definite as Lawrence at No. 1, but it’s still a probability.
