NFL Draft Pick No. 1: Trevor Lawrence, Quarterback, Clemson

There’s no point in being a contrarian, the Jacksonville Jaguars will be taking quarterback Trevor Lawrence with the No. 1 pick, and that’s essentially etched in stone right now.

And why shouldn’t they be? Lawrence may be the best quarterback prospect since Andrew Luck, and Jaguars fans should be praying they don’t neglect his blocking and cause him to take a similar career arc.

Lawrence is essentially the perfect quarterback prospect. He’s smart, big (6-foot-6, 220 pounds), quick, has a strong arm, accurate and has a wicked deep ball.

Lawrence threw for 3,153 yards, 24 touchdowns and five interceptions at a 69.2 percent completion rate over 10 games. He also ran in six more touchdowns over the season.

The biggest question with this big isn’t who the Jaguars pick or if Lawrence is the best prospect, rather the biggest question is how will the team build around him throughout the rest of the NFL Draft.
