49ers NFL Draft 2021: 4 slot receiver prospects to target
By Peter Panacy
49ers Target No. 1: Rondale Moore, Purdue
Every other receiver on this list is likely a day-three pick, although that probably won’t be the case for Purdue wide receiver Rondale Moore.
Like Tylan Wallace, Moore’s best attribute isn’t his size. At 5-foot-9 and 180 pounds, Moore’s draft stock could be hindered by worries about his frame not being able to withstand the rigors of every-down use at the NFL level.

At the same time, though, Moore plays much bigger than his size would indicate, and he never shies away from contact.
That could work against him, of course. But for now, it’s an asset.
Moore showcased what he can do, production-wise, back in 2018 when he recorded 1,258 receiving yards and 213 rush yards before undergoing abbreviated campaigns in 2019 and 2020. Hamstring injuries were the primary culprits there, though, and they could be the reasons why Moore’s draft stock falls into Round 4, potentially.
Yet the upside of seeing Moore as a solid gadget-type player out of the slot is enticing enough to consider him for a Round 3 add.
And while his route tree at Purdue wasn’t overly impressive, Moore has the intangibles to suggest he can be a quality slot-type weapon for a team like the 49ers.
