Jones played both guard and tackle in college, and scouts see him slotting in at guard on an NFL roster. The Niners have struggled with injuries to the O-line in the past, especially the interior, and so grabbing a player who can play in multiple spots on the line makes a lot of sense. With this final pick, San Francisco continues to fortify one of the most valuable position groups.
This concludes Niner Noise’s first full seven-round mock 2021 NFL Draft after the 49ers traded up to the third overall pick. Over the coming month, there is sure to be loads of speculation over what they’ll do after this move. Keep an eye on the rumors and debates going around about the top pick and subsequent selections over the next month, because we won’t be sure where the Niners are going until draft night.
With the rest of their picks after No. 3 overall, San Francisco continues to shore up its defensive line and pass rush, grabbed one of the most intriguing offensive players in the draft in Demetric Felton, grabbed some defensive backs, and continued to strengthen one of the NFL’s strongest offensive lines.
This is one of many possible plans for the 49ers on draft night. Let us know your plans in the comments, and enjoy the next month of speculation as we enter what is now the most exciting Niners draft season in years.
