49ers Round 5 Pick, No. 180 Overall: Defensive Lineman Isaiahh Loudermilk, Wisconsin

When the 49ers went to the Super Bowl in January of 2020, one of the key pieces in taking them there was the defensive line. Although the Niners will likely not take a defensive lineman in the first round as they did with Javon Kinlaw last year, it would be unlikely if they did not continue to add depth to their dominant defensive front.

Isaiahh Loudermilk is the perfect pick at No. 180 to add depth. Loudermilk is an athletic lineman with the ideal build for the position at 6-foot-7 and 293 pounds. However, he is far from the most polished prospect.

With this pick, San Francisco continues to show how an excellent team building in recent years allows to build depth by adding unpolished, raw talent to positions of importance. Although Loudermilk played defensive end in college, many scouts have him slotted as an interior defensive lineman in the NFL.

Loudermilk will have no pressure to immediately contribute to the 49ers and will be able to learn from some of the best, and hopefully develop his raw skills into a solid NFL contributor.
