RB Jeff Wilson, Jr

RB JaMyCal Hasty

2021 Rookie

FB Kyle Juszczyk

Not a lot of changes here from the way the 2020 season ended, now that the SF 49ers have fullback Kyle Juszczyk re-signing a return for the next few seasons.

The biggest thing the Niners will need from this group in 2021 is health, as running back was one of the hardest-hit units last season, with each of Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson missing several games to those dreaded high-ankle sprains.

Each back has proven himself more than capable of carrying the load when called upon, so this isn’t so much a matter of if Mostert and Wilson can play, but whether they can stay on the field and lead the devastating Kyle Shanahan rushing attack.

Hasty got some snaps last season with the two bell-cows out of commission and should be given every opportunity to make the team again in 2021.

As for the final slot, history tells us that Shanahan will fall in love with either a mid-round draft pick or he and running backs coach Bobby Turner will unearth yet another undrafted diamond in the rough to add to the mix.

Someone like Austin Walter could also be in the mix as well.
