2021 NFL Draft: Bengals select offensive tackle Penei Sewell, Oregon

There’s an argument Oregon offensive tackle Penei Sewell isn’t just the best offensive lineman in a deep NFL Draft class for good linemen, but rather he’s the best overall prospect in this year’s draft entirely.

Granted, skill position players get the most attention on draft day. But Sewell is the closest thing to a perennial Pro Bowl O-lineman this year, and that’s precisely what the Cincinnati Bengals need to protect their young quarterback investment, Joe Burrow, who was under all kinds of duress a year ago.

Cincy already has one solid up-and-coming offensive lineman in Jonah Williams, which is good. But the Bengals could still use some massive help elsewhere along the line.

Sewell would be a plug-and-play starter from day one and should help provide Burrow with the protection he’ll need in a defensively tough AFC North.

Easy pick.
