2021 NFL Draft: 49ers bulk up secondary in full Round 1 mock

2021 NFL Draft: Jaguars (via Rams) select safety Trevon Moehrig-Woodard, TCU
After nabbing Trevor Lawrence with the top pick in this year’s NFL Draft, the Jaguars could go one of a number of different directions with this selection initially from the LA Rams. Jacksonville could help surround Lawrence with offensive weaponry or reinforce the offensive line, particularly with regards to what happens with proven tackle Cam Robinson, who’s a free agent but likely to be re-signed.
But there’s some exceptional value and a shot at a would-be steal here because TCU safety Trevon Moehrig winds up falling into the latter stages of Round 1.
Moehrig, who had 20 pass breakups combined over the last two seasons, could easily be selected in the teens and should be viewed as the top safety in this year’s class. And it isn’t as if the Jaguars have needs all over the place on both sides of the ball, so finding a playmaking defensive back who could have gone off the boards much earlier would be a great find from Jacksonville’s perspective.
