SF 49ers: 4 practice squad players who see significant snaps in 2021

No. 1: SF 49ers Cornerback Tim Harris
After two seasons on redshirted injured lists, SF 49ers cornerback Tim Harris will finally have the chance to prove his team made the correct call by selecting him in Round 6 of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Arguably no other position on the Niners roster is going to endure more free-agent tradition than cornerback. Richard Sherman, Jason Verrett, Ahkello Witherspoon, Dontae Johnson, K’Waun Williams and Jamar Taylor are all of the unrestricted variety, while Emmanuel Moseley is a restricted free agent.
Even if San Francisco is able to re-sign some names, a good number of others will walk. And it’ll be imperative the SF 49ers beef up their depth chart behind the would-be starters.
The 6-foot-2 Harris, who seems a perfect fit by his build, should now have a shot to ascend the depth chart higher.
Granted, Harris carried over an injury history from his collegiate days at Virginia. Turning 26 years old before the regular season begins, the mere hope is that he’s been able to somehow hone his skills despite appearing in a mere two regular-season games over his still-brief NFL career.
The good news for Harris, though, is there is a much greater opportunity for him this offseason to solidify a role, something that wasn’t exactly the case in either of his prior two years with San Francisco.
