SF 49ers Tight End Target No. 2: Brevin Jordan, Miami
The Niners’ reported interest in Miami’s Brevin Jordan is almost essentially what announced their intent to find a No. 2 tight end this offseason.
From NBC Sports Bay Area’s Josh Schrock:
"But Jordan would be an ideal Day 2 selection for the 49ers if they are indeed in the market for another tight end. At 6-foot-3, 245 pounds, Jordan is a versatile offensive weapon who played all over the formation for Miami, including in the slot, the backfield and in-line. He’s got a great blend of size, athleticism and ball skills that make him a dangerous receiving weapon, and he is a monster after the catch. Last season, Jordan led college football tight ends with 160 yards after contact."
Schrock’s report included news of San Francisco meeting with Jordan already this offseason, so there’s that to consider.
At 6-foot-3 and 245 pounds, he’s a bit more of a tweener between a big-bodied wide receiver and more of the larger tight ends around the league. But his movement and pass-catching skills already surpass the other two names on this list.
And the fact the SF 49ers met with him makes his would-be addition a bit more enticing.
