The SF 49ers NEED to extend these players as soon as possible.

It’s no secret most NFL teams try to sign their star players to extensions before they hit the open market. Teams with an abundance of cap space love to offer players a blank-check, which could pose a problem for teams like the SF 49ers beyond 2021 if they’re strapped for cash.

Particularly with this year’s salary cap dropping as low as $175 million.

The Niners obviously have a bunch of guys other teams will no doubt be looking to poach, so it’s important they get some of these deals done as soon as possible. The real question is who should be at the top of their priority list, while also keeping in mind the amount of money certain young stars such as EDGE Nick Bosa, wide receiver Deebo Samuel, wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, etc., will be demanding in a few years when they’re finally eligible for extensions.

This is where salary-cap sports leagues become challenging because, as you all may know, you can never keep everybody, which means you’ll be losing out on some fan favorites from time to time.

Let’s take a look at three players San Francisco absolutely has to sign in 2021 before they become free agents.
