No. 3: Tight End Gerald Everett, LA Rams

Last offseason, the SF 49ers spent considerable effort looking for a complementary tight end to pair with the All-Pro, George Kittle. Their efforts landed them two players, Jordan Reed and the rookie, Charlie Woerner.

Neither exactly panned out to desired expectations. And with Reed poised to be a free agent, it wouldn’t be shocking to see the Niners continue their search into 2021.

The Rams’ Gerald Everett is a player to watch for multiple reasons.

Los Angeles’ cap situation, and the fact head coach Sean McVay already has a plethora of other notable pass-catchers, makes re-signing the 26-year-old tight end after he wraps up his rookie contract.

Everett, who has a career-1,389 receiving yards over his four-year career, played in a system awfully similar to that of San Francisco’s head coach, Kyle Shanahan.

Few NFL defenses are equipped to handle two legitimate pass-catching threats at tight end, and Everett has already shown he can be a support piece to what’s intended to be a dynamic offense with plenty of weapons.

Pairing Everett with Kittle would give Shanahan an element to the offense he hasn’t otherwise had since taking over duties in 2017.
